Henna, also known as mehandi, is similar to a tattoo, the difference being it is not permanent. A henna tattoo is done using a naturally prepared paste from the plant called Lawsonia Inermis. The leaves are dried then crushed, which makes a powder that has natural dying properties. Water is then added to the powder which makes the henna paste. This paste is then used to create a temporary design or ancient exotic patterns on the body.
The second from North Africa, is similar to the Middle Eastern, containing mostly floral patterns. These designs usually follow the shape of the feet and hands.
The third style is from India and Pakistan. Here they normally extend from the hands and feet which gives the illusion of wearing gloves and stockings. The designs are made up of a paisley pattern and teardrops.
